I have finally finished my book: Arthur: King and Saint As told by his dual identity: Athruis - St.Armel It contains copious footnotes (numbers shown in all, linked automatically in ebook, or manually in paperback) Rather than being another fantasy book, these footnotes back up the facts from verified historical sources. A King and a chieftain - pendragon - "Head dragon" derived from the days of the Roman occupation when the green dragon of Julius Caesar indicated a supreme leader of many territories, changed to red for Britannia, thus Arthur Pendragon.

His name Arthur itself is derived from Arth-Fawr meaning Great Bear as in the constellation Ursa Major (the Great Bear now know unimaginatively as the Big Dipper) thus Arthur meant "Bear Exalted", but his given name was Arthwys.

Arthur was born in Pen Ychen (Roman Bovium - now Cowbridge - (kml) ) in Glamorgan in South Wales in 482. His domain is Ynys Prydein = Britannia = Cymru = Wales (Wales once included Devon & Cornwall + North & West England + Brittany).

"The twelfth was the most severe contest, when Arthur penetrated to the hill of Badon. In this engagement nine hundred and forty men fell by his hand alone, no one but the Lord affording him assistance." At the Battle of Camlan (Camlann) Annales Cambriae Arthur met Mordred. Mordred was his cousin on his mother's side. (Gwrgant Mawr was Arthur's grandfather and Mordred's great Grandfather. (Guinevere had the same Great-Grandfather, but a different Grandfather). At Camlan on the Llŷn (Lleyn) Peninsula Mordred met Arthur. He was slain, and Arthur appeared to be mortally wounded. Arthur was taken to Bardsey Island (Avalon) (kml) by Merlin where he was healed by Morgan le Fay. (Morgan the Fair was Modrun: Arthur's grandmother and daughter of Afallach, King of Lleyn). Arthur then retired and became St. Armel (Arthmael) of Brittany (See Albert Le Grande's Lives of Saints of Brittany) while also defeating Marcus Conomorus (King March & Comorre) who had seized Armorican Domonia which included Lyonesse. He died in 562 and his tomb is located at St. Armel des Boschaux in Brittany (kml) The Life of St. Armel (Arthmael) in stain glass panels.
